I realized today while sitting around trying to think of something to write on my blogs, that although some people that read this blog may know that I am also an artist, they may not take the time to go to my art blogs or art sites to see my artwork. So I decided that I would bring some of my artwork to them.
These are some of the pieces I did that I really like and I hope that those of you who see them will like them also. The painting at the side and below this paragraph are some of my surreal work.
The paintings below this paragraph are some of my comic book superhero work. As an artist I started out doing comic book art and later went to surreal art. I eventually combined comic book art with my painting and started doing what I call superhero portraits.

This weekend, my girlfriend and I got the movie “The Number 23” from the library (why rent or buy a movie when you can get it from the library for free). Now, not a movie critic or professional movie reviewer, I just know what I like and I like this movie, I could even go as far as to say I love it.
The movie does start out kind of slow and confusing and makes you wondering what the heck is going on and at times what timeline you’re in. But as it goes on and you catch on to what’s happening, the more intriguing the movie becomes. Something like what I went through when watching “Momento”, another movie I absolutely love.
In my opinion, Jim Carrey did an excellent job in this very serious role. You do get some glimpses of the Jim Carrey goofiness at the beginning of the movie, but not much. There are surprises at the end of the movie that kept you guessing and left me with my mouth gapped opened and gasping.
This movie really surprised me. I really only wanted to see it to see how Jim Carrey would a serious role like this, so dark and mysterious. During the first half hour to forty-five minutes in, I’m like this is okay, but not really something I would really want to watch. Much like I was with “Momento”. But once it got really going it had me hooked and the ending just reeled me on in.

There is always something nutty going on in the news so I decided that I would reserve Mondays for a crazy news item. Last week, which wasn’t officially “Crazy News Monday”, I told you about the guy who threw her off of their fourth-floor balcony because he was sick of her being sick. This week I want to talk about this guy who tried to open an airplane door while in flight. Is that crazy enough for you?
Apparently this guy went nuts and tried to open the back door on the airplane at 30,000 feet. A passenger who was seated next to the crazed man said that the guy was acting strange all during the flight, bouncing up and down in seat, counting his fingers, picking at his face and hair. When the guy got up to go to the supposedly to go to the bathroom a flight attendant was heard calling for help. Passengers, including the man setting next to the deranged man were able to subdue the guy and duct tape him to a seat.
The crazed man then kept yelling and biting at the duct tape so he was farther restrained with seatbelts. The man was arrested when the plane landed. Airline officials said there was no way the man could have opened the door, but I don’t know about that. Crazy people can sometimes have incredible strength and aren’t those doors made to open somehow in an emergency?
Any if you’re on an airplane and you see someone acting a little strange, keep an eye on them, you might have to duct tape them to a seat. And that says it all.

While going through my email today a thought hit me that spammers never take a day off. Although the rest of my email was very skimpy, the spam email was plentiful and is still coming.
I don’t get spammers, they have to know that the majority of their mail goes straight to the spam or bulk mail folder and even the ones that make it to the inbox is immediately deleted before they are even read. Okay, there might still be a handful of people out there that might read a handful of this junk mail. But how many can it be? I’m guessing not many at all, not when compared with the amount of junk email that’s sent out. So spammers, is it really worth it to do this everyday?
Go ahead and take a day off, relax a little, enjoy sometime with your family, watch some T.V., you can go back to spamming tomorrow. But just for one day LEAVE ME THE HELL ALONE. And that says it all.

As I write this it’s thundering and lightening here in Columbus. Ohio. It’s rainy and gloomy out and it’s been like this most of the week. Now you can call me crazy, but I love it. I absolutely love rainy, gloomy days. Maybe it’s because I’m inside all day everyday and it just seems okay if it’s gloomy out.
When it’s nice and sunny out I feel like I should be outside doing something enjoying the weather. But what? It’s not like when I was young and could just hangout with the guys playing football or going to the park. Hell, everybody’s at work now and believe me at my age football is way off the menu.
I enjoy what I do. I enjoy blogging and doing my art and for the most part those are indoor activities and when it’s rainy and gloomy outside I don’t feel the guilt of not being outside taking advantage of a beautiful day.
So keep those rainy, gloomy days coming and I’ll keep working inside on the things I love doing guilt free. And that says it all.

A few days ago I heard a guy say something to another guy that I hadn’t heard in years. The one guy told the other guy who was contemplating talking to this very good looking girl that she was out of his league. What? Do people still think that?
What makes one person too good to be with another person? The answer is nothing. A person is only out of your league if you think that. People are people and we all have the same opportunities and chances as the next person. Because someone has more money or power, does that make them better than you? Because they are better looking, does that make them better? No, they may think they’re better, but they’re not, so way give them that edge.
If you see a pretty girl that you what to talk to, but you don’t look like Tom Cruise or Denzel Washington, talk to her anyway. Most women can be won over with charm and confidence no matter how you look or how they look. Haven’t you seen a not so good looking guy with an absolutely gorgeous woman and wondered “how in the hell did he get her”. The answer is he didn’t think she was out of his league.
So don’t let someone tell you that someone is out of your league. Tell them “hey they may be out of your league, but they’re not out of mine”. And that says it all.

This is something I’m thinking about doing as a weekly series. There’s always something crazy happening in the news. I’m watching the news this weekend and up come a story about a guy who killed his wife because he was sick of her being sick. This guy tossed his wife over the balcony of their apartment building. Now, just the wife being sick wasn’t all of it, the financial burden of her being sick had a lot to do with it also.
Get this, the guy, Stanley Reimer, said he was having extreme financial difficulties and could not take care of his wife, Criste Reimer, so he kissed her, picked her up and threw her off of their fourth-floor balcony. The couple had no health insurance and the medical bills ranged from $700 to $800 per week.
Criste had been sick for several years with neurological problems and uterine cancer. Criste was also partly blind.
Maybe there was more to Stanley Reimer doing what he did. Maybe his wife was suffering and part of his reasoning was to put her out of her misery, I don’t know. I do know that if you are sick with no insurance and the bills are paling up, you better make sure you are with someone that really cares and loves you. And that says it all.
