Crazy News Monday; Driver Kills Teen And Sues For Damages

Here is a guy with some big balls. Tomas Delgado, a businessman was driving his Audi A8 100mph when he hit and killed Enaitz Iriondo who was riding his bicycle at the time. Iriondo was only 17 years old.

Delgado’s insurance company paid Iriondo's parents $48,500 in compensation for their son's death. Delgado is now suing to recover $29,400 in damages to his car and car rental costs. I guess the claim is that Iriondo was not wearing reflective clothing or a helmet. Delgado was quoted as saying "It's the only way I have to claim my money back".

The nerve of this guy who broke the law by speeding and killed a young man and now wants to sue that young man’s parents. Iriondo's mom said it best when she said, "It's the final straw, a stab in the back". And that says it all.

The Monte Carlo On Fire

I was looking through the news a little while ago and saw that the Monte Carlo Resort & Casino in Las Vegas was on fire. Not in a good way where there was lots of business and lots of money being made. I mean it was aflame.

The Monte Carlo was evacuated and there were no serious injuries. The fire, which reportedly burned a couple of the upper floors was contained and largely extinguished in about an hour. Damage may have just been to the exterior of the building, but the Monte Carlo will be closed until it is fully inspected. And that says it all.

Bronze Statue Of The Fonz In Milwaukee

Local groups in Milwaukee have raised $85,000 in order to have a bronze statue erected of the Fonz. The Fonz or Fonzie or Arthur Fonzarelli, was a character played by Henry Winkler on the hit show “Happy Days”, which ran from 1974 to 1984.

The Fonz was an ultra cool player the woman loved and guys admired. Although “Happy Days” wasn’t film in Milwaukee, the scene was set there.

Now I liked the Fonz character as much as the next guy, but come on, give me a break, an $85,000 statue. Is this the best Milwaukee has to offer? A guy that went around picking up chicks and said aaaaayyy all the time. I think you better check there history you can do better than this. And that says it all.

The New James Bond Movie

A new James Bond movie is going to be released later this year and the title of the new movie is "Quantum of Solace." Producer Michael G. Wilson said the title was chosen only a few days ago. Daniel Craig will return for a second time as Bond, James Bond.

This movie is a direct sequel to 2006's "Casino Royale," beginning an hour after that film ends, with Bond devastated by his betrayal by his true love Vesper Lynd.

So far I like Craig’s portrayal of James Bond. He may be the best Bond since Sean Connery. And that says it all.
