Crazy News Monday; Karma Will Get You

On the hit comedy show “My Name Is Earl” it’s all about how karma pays you back for the things you do. A burglar in Massachusetts named Daniel Cabral found that out the hard way. After being arrested and charged with burglarizing the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth building, he was arraigned and released until his next court date. Daniel had given a false address so it was doubtful that Daniel intended to return.

Well, a few Hours later, Daniel was robbed at gunpoint while walking home from a bar. He reported the robbery to police, this time giving them his real address. The police arrested two suspects and a man accused of being an accomplice after the fact. They also got a search warrant for Daniel's real address and found computer equipment that had been taken from the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth building as well as power tools that had been reported missing from a local theater.

Daniel was however released on his own recognizance. This just goes to show you as we have learned from Earl Hickey from “My Name Is Earl”, karma will bite you in the ass. And that says it all.

A Ginger Rogers Musical

Ginger Rogers was one of those classy classic film stars. Although she was in 77 films, she is most remembered for the films she did with another classic film star, Fred Astaire. A musical play about Ginger’s life will debut in Ginger's home city of Rancho Mirage on Feb '08 and in North Hollywood April '08.

This will be an event no Ginger Rogers fan will want to miss. Some of the highlights of Ginger's life are that she was kidnapped by her father as a baby, but later found by her mother. She was married 5 times, but never had had children or a good husband. She was a Christian Scientist. She was forbidden to kiss Fred Astaire by contract, which Astaire’s wife wrote into the contract. That’s how the song "Dancing Cheek to Cheek" came about.

What Will The New Year Bring?

Every year about this time I always wonder what the New Year will have in store for me, I think everybody does. I mean you have to wonder is this next year going to be better, is it going to be worse or what?

I don’t really make a really make any New Years resolutions or anything like that. I just basically promise myself to do better at reaching my goals. I always tell myself that the New Year will be better than the last and somehow it always is.

I’m not saying that it’s a whole lot better, but it is just a little better and that is something. The best thing is to keep your head up and keep a positive attitude and do the best you can to get to your goals and if you make even just a little ways there you’ve done good. And that says it all.

A Payment From Google Adsense

I was pleasantly surprised last night when I went to check my bank account to see if a PayPal withdrawal that I made had made it to my account. On the first page of my account where it just show how much money is the account I noticed some extra money. When I went to the details page is when I saw the Google Adsense payment.

I knew I had made it to my pay out amount at Google and I know they say they will pay before the end of the next month after you have reached your pay out amount. Since I reached my pay out amount in November I knew I was supposed to get my payment this month.

I did have my doubts however after reading horror stories of accounts being closed just when they reached the pay out amount and after getting a PR spanking on my other blog having it drop from a PR2 to a PR0. I’m just glad that it worked that I was able to get my payment. And that says it all.

Crazy News Monday; A Christmas Stabbing

Here is a story that illustrates how much Christmas has become all about gift giving. Misty Johnson stabbed her husband, Shawn Johnson with a kitchen knife, after an argument about him opening a Christmas gift early.

There was an accusation of Shawn also having an affair, but the initial argument started about the opening of the gift. Even though deep down Misty might have been angry that her husband might be having an affair, the very fact that she used the gift opening as an excuse to start the argument shows how important gift giving has become on Christmas.

I wrote an article on Associated Content a year ago about how Christmas has become more about the gifts than the real reason we’re supposed to celebrate the holiday. Aruba Case Closed

It’s a sad thing that the case of the Natalee Holloway disappearance was closed. You have to wonder how her parents feel knowing that they may never know what happened to their daughter.

It had been about two years since Natalee disappeared while on a trip with her class to Aruba. It had been an up and down since then. The authorities had three suspects they thought was involved in the disappearance. They then narrowed it to one, then it went back to the other two suspects, then none and then things seemed to have died down for a while.

Then a few weeks ago it was said that there was new evidence that that would point the finger to who was the cause of Natalee’s disappearance and possible death. Then today came the news that the case would be closed unsolved.

I think there’s no doubt for anyone that Natalee is dead, she’s been missing for too long. It would have just been good for the family to get some closure on this case. And that says it all.

Toothpaste For Sensitive Teeth

My teeth are a little sensitive not much, but I can feel slight pain when I brush. Sometimes are worse then others, but I’ve been dealing with it for years so I don’t really think about it. Well, I had gotten a free tube of Biotene toothpaste for sensitive teeth and like I said I have slight pain when brushing, but not much.

Anyway I had this free tube of toothpaste so I decided to give it a try. I figured if it was going to work it would take a few days for me to start feeling it. I was amazed I didn’t think sensitivity toothpastes worked at all really.

But I am inclined to believe it because my mouth actually feels different after using it.

The True Meaning Of Christmas

I’m not going to get all religious or spiritual on you here, even though that is what Christmas is supposed to be about. No, I want to stay little earth bound for moment. I think Christmas is more about showing your love and caring for friends and family.

Somehow over the years Christmas became about gift giving then love giving. People care more about what gift they are going to give someone then how they can show how much they care for that person. Material things can never take the place of a hug or an “I love”.

I wrote an article last year on Associated Content titled ”Where Has Christ Gone in Christmas?”. This article still applies today and always will.

Way not do something a bit different this Christmas. Instead of giving material things this year, let the people you care about know how much you really care. This is also a good way to see who really cares about you. And that says it all.
