Crazy News Monday

A guy in Charleston was arrested after he text messaged the State Police to make a drug deal. It appears that Joshua Cadle, who is 19 years old, text messaged a number that he though belonged to a friend. Apparently Cadle hadn’t called this friend in a while because the number now belonged to the State Police.

Cadle’s text message asked if the friend wanted to buy some weed. A meeting was setup in the parking lot of a shopping center where Joshua Cadle was arrested. He was charged with delivery of a controlled substance and possession with intent to deliver.

That just shows how modern technology can screw you up. Had Cadle called his friend instead of text messaging him, he would have known the moment he heard the voice on the other end that it wasn’t his friend.

This should teach us all a lesson. Keep in touch with your friends so you’ll know when they change their number. And that says it all.

Bringing Your Personality Online

You know the one thing you will never be able to escape is your personality. You can change parts of your personality if you work on it, but your core personality, the person that you truly are will always come through.

I got to thinking about this when I realized that even online I’m the person I am in the real world. In real life I’m an introvert. I don’t socialize much and I like being by myself a lot and I realized that I’m the same way online.

I don’t go to a lot of other blogs and leave comments. I mean there are plenty of blogs out there that I actually like, but I very, very seldom leave a comment. I have made some friends from blogging that I like very much, but just like my real world friends I very rarely reach out to them even though I like them a lot.

I’m even a member of several social networking sites, but I never visit them until someone invites me to be a friend.

My point is that my core personality is being an introvert, a loner or maybe even a hermit. I know to be more successful online or in life period you must be very social. I’m working coming out of my shell and be more social, but change is hard.

Here’s something fun you can do. The next time you’re at someone’s blog see if you can guess what their core personality is. Once you a guess why not contact them and ask if your guess is right? And that says it all.

Crazy News Monday, O.J. Simpson At It Again

By now everybody knows that O.J. Simpson has been arrested and charged with two counts of robbery with a deadly weapon, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon and one count each of armed burglary and conspiracy to commit burglary. A judge ordered that O.J. be held without bail.

For those who don’t know, and I can’t imagine who that might be, O.J. was told that some of his sports memorabilia was being sold. He and some of his “friends” were lead to the room where O.J. Simpson’s stuff was being sold and two of his friends went in posing as buyers. O.J. then and the rest of his posse enter the room and that’s where things get crazy.

One report I saw said that O.J. knew one of the guys who were selling the stuff. In fact supposedly O.J. gave the guy the stuff to hold for him so that the Goldmans wouldn’t get it as part of their civil law suit. The men told O.J. to take the stuff. While O.J. Simpson’s boys were gathering the memorabilia, O.J. was yelling and cursing the guy he knew say that he thought they were friends and how could he do this to him.

It seems one of the sellers reached for an autographed photo and that’s when pulled out by one Of Simpson’s friends not O.J. Some reports say the men were roughed up, some say they weren’t. O.J. was said to have called the one guy he knew and apologized for how everything went down. That same guy later told police he wanted the charges dropped and that he was on O.J. Simpson’s side.

I don’t think O.J. Simpson is a smart guy at all. In his murder case he would have talked himself into a conviction if his lawyers hadn’t told him to shout up. He knows the police has a hard on for him and he keeps doing stupid things. If he thought people were selling stuff that belong to him he should have let the police handle it, he knew where the people were.

There’s talk of a long jail sentence in this case for O.J. Simpson, but from what I hard I don’t think that will happen. I think he’ll get a fine and maybe probation. But one thing that I think will happen is now the Goldmans know O.J. has stuff that they can claim and I think they’ll go after it. And that says it all.

I Signed Up For Peace

I signed up at the One Million Blogs for Peace website. This is an attempt to get support to end the war in Iraq. I support this whole-heartedly. I may not speak out about it much, but I never thought we should have been there in the first place.

I did a post about my thoughts on the war in Iraq back in July titled ”The War In Iraq Is Not A War On Terror”” where I relate what I think is the real reason Bush wanted to attack Iraq.

The person that Bush should have spent our troops time and resources on getting was Osama Ben laden. He puts out a video almost monthly. Why not send our resources to find out where he is and send our troops after him.

Anyway the One Million Blogs for Peace is trying to get the message out to end the war in Iraq and hopefully that message is heard by the people who can do something about it and we can get our troops home. And that says it all.

Who’s Better Than Who?

My girlfriend was reading Tammy Faye Messner’s book Sunday and she pointed out a line in the book that said, “Don’t be too impressed with yourself, we’re all made out of the same old dirt”. I like that quote a lot. I am always saying to people that no one person is any better than anyone else. We all are born from a woman’s womb and we are all going to die.
Death is the great equalizer. None of us are going to get out of this life a live. So what makes one person think they are any better they anyone else? Is because they have more money? When you die you won’t have any, because you can’t take it with you. Is because they are smarter? When you die you are brain dead just like any dummy. Is it because they are better looking? In the first place your looks are going to fade and when you die it won’t be long before you’ll be looking like the Phantom of the Opera.

Just because a person may of made different choices or had better luck or was born with good genes doesn’t make them better than someone who didn’t have those things. We are all different not better or worse than any body else because we are all human beings and that makes us all the same. And that says it all.

Crazy News Monday

A 23-year-old woman who thought she left her keys at a neighbors home decide to set their home on fire. That’s right she was going to burn the neighbors home down over some keys.
Here’s what happened. After finding her keys missing, the woman broke into her neighbors' trailer, and began tearing the place apart apparently looking for her keys. After not finding the keys the woman went home and got some lighter fluid and cooking oil, she returned to the neighbors' place and tried to start a fire by spraying lighter fluid on a hot stove burner. When that didn't work, she placed the oil and a stuffed animal on the stove.

The nutty woman then called 9-1-1 and hid in a bush across the street when deputies and firefighters responded. Someone called the woman's boyfriend at work and he rushed home to find his girlfriend hiding in the bushes, barefoot and incoherent. The woman told her boyfriend her keys were missing, at which time he pointed to a set of keys hanging from her pants pocket. The woman began to cry.

What the hell was she crying for? She found her keys. I’ll who else probably shed a tear or two, was the neighbor with the burnt home.

There had to be something mentally wrong with this woman or her and the neighbor were at odds with each other or something else besides missing keys. At any rate this is an extreme case of “look before you leap”. And that says it all.

Yuwie, The New Kid On The Block

Yuwie is the newest social networking site to hit the Internet. You can do all the things you do on Myspace, Facebook and the others, but the difference with Yuwie is they actually pay you for doing those things. That’s huge.

Sites like Myspace and Facebook make millions of dollars a year because of people like you and me. Have you gotten any of that money? I know I haven’t. Yuwie just getting started, but because they are paying you to do the stuff you do on other social networking sites, I think it has the potential to outgrow them all.

I’m not saying you shouldn’t use other social networking sites because they don’t pay. I’m just saying it would make since to add Yuwie to your social networking activities. And that says it all.

My Two Loves

It’s hard joggling two loves, both of them demanding my time and me trying to please them both. I find it very hard to give each love the time they need and deserve and sometimes it’s very hard on me trying to decide which love will get my time and when.

I sometimes think that I should just concentrate on just one love and let one go at least for a little while, but I love them both so which one do I let go. It’s a hard decision to make.

For right now I think I’ll just keep joggling both loves and hope that everything will work out. Oh, by the way the two loves I’m talking about is my art and blogging. And that says it all.

Crazy News Monday

Last Thursday, a housekeeper found a body wrapped in plastic bags at the Hotel Carter, a run-down Times Square hotel. It’s seems that while cleaning one of the rooms the housekeeper reached under the bed and felt a foot. Now that would have scared the hell out of me.

The body was that of a white female, about six feet tall, very thin and about 130 pounds. She was also missing her right index finger, but police said that was an old injury. The woman was beaten and strangled.

Friday night police detained Clarence Dean, A registered sex offender who left the hotel abruptly Wednesday afternoon after staying there for almost two weeks.

Dean, who was required to register as a sex offender because of an attempted lewd act involving a child under age 12, has been a wanted man in Shelby County, Ala. since March when sheriff's deputies performed a check of his home and found that he had moved out without informing officials. He also failed to appear in court on a property theft case. Dean was still in custody Saturday morning, but formal charges had not been filed.
It’s not sure if this Dean killed the woman or not, but if he did there are some lessons to be learned here
Lesson number one, if you’re a wanted person, don’t kill somebody, leave the body in a room you have been staying in for two weeks and then leave abruptly. That steams to draw attention to you.
Lesson number two, don’t kill somebody and leave the body in your room in the first place. Take the body somewhere else. Why not put the body in front of someone else’s door on another floor late at night.
The third and final lesson, don’t be killing people anyway. You don’t have the right to take another person’s life unless they are threatening your life. Plus with the advancement in forensics today you’re going be caught. Don’t you watch CSI? And that says it all.
