Cat Sitting

Contributed by Milford Woods

My next door neighbor asked me to take care of her daughter’s cat while my neighbor went out of town. Obviously she does not know how much I cannot stand cats. She also has a dog, but she must have sent him off somewhere else. So I reluctantly said okay. Then I realized that the cat I would be taking care of does not even live with my neighbor because her daughter is married and has a house of her own. So she left me written instructions on how to get into her house.

First I had to unlock the door, and then go straight to the house alarm and put in the code to stop the alarm from going off. No pressure there! Then I just had to fill the food and water bowls set the alarm and leave. The first day went fine. The second day was a little different. I went in the kitchen to fill the bowls and noticed there were about a million ants swarming all through the food bowl and all over the kitchen floor.

This totally grossed me out. So I went outside and tossed all the food left in the bowl up into the woods. Then I had to find some bug spray to spray down all the ants. I filled the bowl with food and left it on the kitchen table. I figured the cat probably jumped up there all the time anyway. Thank goodness that was my last day to do in there. I can’t stand cats or ants.

I Love The Walking Dead

I love the TV show “The Walking Dead”. When I first heard about the show I wondered how good a show about zombies could be, after all zombies have been done to death (no pun intended). Well, from the very first show I could see where they were going and I liked what they were doing and it just kept getting better.

The show is based off of a graphic novel (comic book). I never read the graphic novel, but I would like to see it to see how it compares to the show. What makes the show so good is that fact that’s about more the people killing and trying to avoid zombies, it gets into the characters of the people themselves.

I don’t watch AMC much, but I am finding that they have some very good shows and “The Walking Dead” is one of them. And that says it all.

Will 12/21/2010 Be The End

The Mayan calendar ends at 12/21/2012 and there has been speculation that, that will be the day the world ends. One of the speculations is that the earth will stop rotating because of a solar flair from the sun that will super heat the earth’s core causing the earth crust to thin and so on and so on.

What is interesting to me is the weather we have had this year. We actually didn’t have a winter. It seems like the seasons may be going off and if that is the case maybe that’s why the Mayan calendar ends at 12/21/2012 because there will be a shift of the seasons.

Whatever the theory is we will know for sure 12/21/2012. And that says it all.

Happy Birthday To Me

Today is my Birthday and I'm glad I made it through another. I'm 59 today, I'm in good health and above all I look good. A lot of folks didn't make this far and I could have been one of them so I count myself lucky.

I haven't accomplished everything that I wanted to, but I'm still working on it. However I have accomplished a lot of things and that is something. I am happy for the things I accomplished and won't be sad about what I haven't, I'll just keep on pushing.

So I just want to take this time to say Happy Birthday to me and may I have many more. And That says it all.

Some Financial Wisdom

It amazes me how stupid people can be with their finances. People seem to have a buy what I want regardless of my debt attitude.  I know people that cry about how deep they are in a hole and yet they keep spending my on things they don't need.

Here is a bit of financial wisdom folks. You don't need the internet or a bunch of apps on your cell phone. Texting cost you money.

Eating out cost you more then spending that some amount of money for groceries that will last you week rather then one day and one meal.

Charging things to your credit card gets you deeper in debt. You can't afford it, don't charge it.

Designer clothes cost more then non-designer clothes, but guess what? They do the same thing, cover you up and you can get clothes that look as good or better then the designer clothes.

These are things you don't need. Rule of thumb, if you're in debt and you can't afford it, don't spend money on it. Instead spend your money on getting out of debt and stop whining. That says it all.

Find Affiliate Marketing Success With Affiliate Cash Snipers

I received several e-mails about a software called Affiliate Cash Snipers so I decided to look into it. The claim for this software is that it will help you make more money with the amazon affiliate program. Okay, I'm an amazon affiliate and I would love to make more money so show me how it's done.

Well, how it's done is the software lets you create interactive widgets that visitors to your website choose certain attributes of products that you are selling.

Say for instance you are selling digital cameras. You can setup a widget that will let your visitor choose the make, the model, the color and even the price. That's really powerful in letting the visitor get exactly what they want.

When they click to see the item to go to Amazon with your affiliate ID embedded and if they buy you get the commission and since they are looking at exactly what they wanted chance are high that they will buy.

I think this can help grow your amazon affiliate commission and I plan to buy it. How about you. And that says it all.

CHICAGO BOUND

Thanks to Lemuel Craft

I am originally from Chicago. I went to undergrad at Vanderbilt and decided to stay in Nashville for law school because I loved it so much. I practiced law for the last ten years in New York City. Recently, a job opportunity became available in Chicago. It sort of fell in my lap and I felt like it was meant to be. I am looking forward to being near my family again.

While, I would travel back to see them about every two months, I just can’t wait to see my parents every Sunday for lunch after church. When I got an offer and signed the contract, I immediately headed to Chicago to search for a place. I found a great home in a building that is pretty close to my parent’s brownstone. It was a great price and I immediately jumped at the opportunity to purchase it.

It is a place that I can see myself living for a long time. I think that it is going to be a great place. I have hired a decorator to help me pick some curtains and make some window treatments. My mom is meeting illinois home security there before the big move so that I can get an alarm system installed. Other than that, I am ready to move!
