Why I Love Sci Fi Movies

I am a huge fan of sci-fi movies I just can get enough of them. I was asked the other day why I love sci-fi movies so much and my answer was because they are a total escape.

Movies are supposed to be an escape from everyday life where you can go to a fantasy world and get away from the humdrum of your own life. Well science fiction movies do that in spades.

Mysteries, suspense and action movies take you from your real life, but they are still within the real world. I like to be taken totally away. Science fiction takes you to different worlds, different times and different possibilities. It is a total and absolute escape and I love it.

It makes you wonder about what can be and what will be. It totally sparks the imagination. For me there is nothing better. And that says it all.

Paleo Cooking For the Paleo Diet

I recently did some research for this Squidoo lens I did for a Paleo Diet cookbook. I the process of doing my research I found out a lot about the diet and how good for you Paleo cooking is. For those of you that are as clueless as I was about this diet before doing the research this diet basically goes back to paleolithic era.

In the days of the caveman our ancestors ate natural foods provided by Mother Nature. Now that doesn't mean just fruits and vegetables, it also included some meats, fish, nuts and seeds. These foods not only allowed our ancestors to maintain a natural weight, they also gave them the energy they needed to do their hunting and gathering as well as kept them healthy.

Paleo cooking allows use now to prepare those foods in a healthy and tasty manner that we are accustom to.

The one cookbook that I found that offers lots of recipes to use for every meal is the "Paleo Recipe Book". It has over 370 recipes so your meals will never get boring.

If you're thinking about trying this diet or are already on it you must give this recipe a try. And that says it all.

Modern Family

Content by Kyle Lowe
Oh, Modern Family. I am beginning to feel like I talk about this show entirely too much. Is that possible, do you think? I feel like I’m about one step away from being that weird person who responds to “How are you?” with total word vomit of the “Did you see Modern Family last night?!” variety. While I’m aware this is probably not healthy, I would venture to say I’m not alone. That show is singularly the funniest sitcom that’s been on TV in years. There are no poorly fleshed out characters. There are no poorly thought out plotlines. There is nothing but pure comic genius in the form of eleven hilarious characters. The themes are just high-brow enough that I don’t feel dumber watching it, and the jokes are accessible enough that the majority of the populace can laugh at them. I hope so, at least. Otherwise I’m terribly saddened by the current state of our collective senses of humor. I feel like I digressed there a little, and that’s clearly a topic for a more in-depth post. The point is, Modern Family is definitely the best show on Expert Satellite. If you disagree we probably can’t be friends.

Jersey Shore

Guest post from: Mohamed Simon

Every time my friend and I make plans to go out to dinner and a movie, we inevitably decide to stay in and have wine and cheese. It’s not that we’re anti-social, we just get to the end of our work weeks and can’t seem to summon up enough energy to actually look presentable enough for a night out. Seeing as weeks and sometimes months go by between our catch-up sessions, they tend to last for hours. We usually sit on her back porch and trade stories, while sipping wine.

A bottle later, we decide that it’s a fantastic idea to pop another cork and get started on our second. The mosquitoes are usually eating me up by this time, so we move inside to watch whatever shows she has yet to watch on her tvbydirect in Wayneseboro. During our latest hangout, the selection was Jersey Shore. I’m not sure how I have managed to go this long without seeing this debacle, but I am happy to say that I am far from hooked!

Very bad girls

Guest post from: Bruno Smith

The Bad Girls Club is one of the Oxygen Channel's biggest hits. This show throws together a diverse group of young women with very little in common except that they all consider themselves bad, bad girls.

In The Bad Girls Club's first season a drunken Ripsi reeled about threatening to get physical with anyone who crossed her path. At first the other girls in the house reacted rather calmly but as Ripsi grew more agitated and aggressive the situation threatened to get out of control. The producers stepped in to restore relative peace and Ripsi was absent from subsequent episodes. I became an instant fan of this over the top show about the self-professed bad girls and their antics.

I watch The Bad Girls Club on http://www.cannonsatellite.com and never miss an episode. Now in its sixth season the show's budget has apparently increased with its popularity. The Bad Girls are housed in an opulent Los Angeles mansion and take frequent limousine road trips. The Bad Girls themselves have also become more extreme with this season featuring a tomboy, a Barbie, a southern belle, a corporate executive and a hippie. I can't wait to see what happens.

Love to Travel

Thanks for the post, Nora Howe

Traveling is definitely my favorite past time, and I've been some of the most exotic locations in the entire world. I was really lucky growing up that my parents found value in traveling so a lot of my explorations happened before I was even 18 years old. Now that I'm an adult, I plan my own trips, and this year I think I'm finally going to make it to India! I've been using my Mobile Broadband 4G to plan the trip in my spare time, and I've actually found a travel agent that specializes in backpacking trips through India. My best friend Jake has said he'll accompany me and I really just can't wait to get over there, eat food, experience the culture, and explore! a new place. I think that traveling around the globe make you a more well-rounded person and I definitely feel like I learned something every time I go to a new place. I thank my parents for exposing me to travel at such a young age so that now I appreciate it!
